Which of me
Will you remember
When I am no more
The boy, youth
Husband, father, or
Am I to be
Forever etched
In relief
As pallid, pained,
Surrounded with grief
Remember instead
Days long passed
Of laughter, desire
And a life yet cast
Of hopes and belief
A world to come
Of times together
Carefree and fun
As father, companion
Elder sage
Of life’s fullness
Before turning this page
Promise me that
In times to come
You will remember me thus
And not be glum
